Sons will, for the first time, host first division football at the DFS after humiliating Airdrie 4-1 at their own stadium. The first goal came after only 9 minutes Aggy played a wonderful through ball to Craig Dargo and he lifted the ball over Grant Adam and into the net. Dargoals was at it again minutes later he capitalised on a slip by an Airdrie defender to nip in and tick home his second of the game 4-1 sons on agg. Derek Holmes briefly gave the Diamonds hope when he slotted home from close range however all hope was extinguished on the hope of half time,Tony Wallace ran in from the right skinned both the Airdrie left back and Centre back before passing the ball to Mark Gilhaney who smashed the ball high beyond Adam.The victory was confirmed on 55 minutes when Wallace showed good skill to beat the Airdrie defence and roll the ball home.
