Dumbarton went threw to the play off final after (somehow) holding onto a 0-0 draw with Arbroath.Stephen Grindlay produced a bumber of world class saves to keep the lichties at bay (sea related joke if you see what i did there).Dumbarton never really got going and should of been ahead early on when Gavin Swankie rounded keeper grindlay and shot towards goal only for Alan Lithgow to fly out of no where and header the ball off the line. The first half was one of few chances Craig Dargo had sons best when he rounded keeper Hill and then miss-hit his cross and Arbroath cleared. The second half was the Stephen Grindlay show first he tipped a Gavin Swankie free kick around the post before saving well from Malcom and Falkingham, then came the former Ayr keepers best save Stewart Malcoms header looked destined for the net before out of nowhere shay tipped the ball over the bar.Arbroath then had 8 corners in a five minute spell and ref Craig Thompson (who along with his linesman had an excellent game) angred the lichties fans by not awarding a penalty when Falkingham (who has a deserved reputation as a diver)tumbled in the box. But sons held on they will now face Airdrie United in the playoff final with the first leg at the DFS stadium this wednesday (7:45) and the second leg on Sunday (3) at the excelsior stadium.both games are also live on BBC ALBA
